Congressman Tim Ryan Advocates to Secretary of Energy Granholm and Secretary of Transportation Buttigieg For Ohio’s Position as a Leader in the Clean Energy Revolution
Washington, DC – Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-13) released the following statement after two productive calls yesterday in which he advocated separately to Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg for Ohio’s workers and businesses to lead the clean energy economy.
“As we rebuild our economy to dominate the clean energy revolution, Ohio workers and businesses stand at the ready to keep doing what we do best: make world-class cars and tires. This important work is already taking place in universities, businesses, and incubators across my congressional district and, especially, in Voltage Valley, where Lordstown Motors, GM-Ultium, BRITE, Youngstown Business Incubator, and YSU are all leading the way in clean energy manufacturing and battery storage. Now, under the Biden Administration’s leadership, we are making historic investments in our clean energy infrastructure through the American Jobs Plan. I have full confidence that Ohio is going to be a key piece in that puzzle. I look forward to continuing my conversations with Secretary Granholm and Secretary Buttigieg to realize our shared vision and ensure Ohioans have a seat at the table.”
