Congressman Tim Ryan Announces $128,947 to Champion Township Fire Department
Washington, DC – Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-13) today announced $128,947 in federal grant awards to the Champion Township Fire Department. The award is an Assistance to Firefighters Operations and Safety Grant administered by the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in cooperation with the US Fire Administration.
“Every day, our firefighters put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe and that is reason enough to provide the necessary funding they need to do their jobs,” said Congressman Ryan. “I will always support the Assistance to Firefighter Grant Program and will continue to advocate for increased funding so that our firefighters are well-trained and well-equipped.”
The Assistance to Firefighters Grant to Champion Township is part of $315 million being awarded to fire departments, certain EMS organizations, and state fire training academies around the nation to fund professional training, wellness, fitness programs, equipment, personal protective equipment, and supplies that support operations and safety.
