Congressman Tim Ryan Announces $5,758.30 for Coventry Fire Department

August 13, 2020
Press Release

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-13) today announced a $5,758 federal grant awarded to the Coventry Fire Department. The award is part of the 2020 Assistance to Firefighters Grant – COVID-19 Supplemental Program (AFG-S), which will provide funds for the purchase of PPE and related supplies for first responders during the coronavirus response.

“I want to thank the firefighters of Coventry for putting themselves on the front lines to protect our community. As a member of Congress, I believe in providing our first responders with the resources necessary to safely do their jobs,” said Congressman Ryan. “As we continue to confront the COVID-19 pandemic, I know our first responders will continue to do their jobs selflessly and professionally.”

The purpose of Assistance to Firefighters Grant and the COVID-19 Supplemental Program are to award grants directly to fire departments to enhance their ability to protect the health and safety of the public, as well as that of first-responder personnel through the purchase of PPE and essential supplies related to the COVID-19 response. This grant award is part of nearly $58,000 awarded this week to fire departments in northeast and central Ohio.
