Jul 17, 2013 Issues: Helping Working Families

Congressman Tim Ryan made the following statement on Richard Cordray’s Confirmation as Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau:

“Finally we’ll have a permanent cop on the Wall Street beat,” said Congressman Ryan. “I couldn’t be more pleased that the Senate has voted to bring an end to this absurd two-year waiting game brought on by the Republican Party. Whether he was serving as Ohio Solicitor General, Treasurer or Attorney General, Rich has always been, and will continue to be, a tireless advocate for justice. Rich understands the great responsibility that comes with this position and I am certain he will continue to protect American consumers and ensure that we don’t continue the same policies and practices that brought us to the brink of a second Great Depression.”
