Jan. 26, 2010: Congressman Ryan Comments on State of the State Address

January 26, 2010
Press Release

Warren, Ohio – U.S. Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-17) commented today on Governor Ted Strickland’s State of the State Address:

"I commend Governor Ted Strickland as he continues to fight for Ohio families and our state’s economic future during these difficult times.  I am especially pleased with his efforts to place Ohio at the cutting edge of energy technology.  Successful programs like the Ohio Third Frontier and Energy Gateway Fund have created unprecedented capital investments in advanced energy job creation – helping cast off Ohio’s ‘Rust Belt’ image and moving the state forward as ‘America’s Energy Gateway’.

Like Governor Strickland, I believe in Ohio, and I believe that our renewal lies before us – not behind us.  Investments in energy technology have already begun to make an impact in the 17th District, from Clean Coal Fuel Cell Development at the University of Akron to Advanced Fuels Research at Youngstown State University and the future Alternative Energy Incubator in Warren.  We are at the forefront of an energy revolution that will rebuild our economy through investment, innovation, and education.”
