March 16, 2006: U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan Introduces Resolution Honoring the Contributions of Irish-Americans to American Democracy

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) Congressman Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) will introduce a resolution today in the U.S. House of Representatives honoring the contributions of Irish-Americans to American democracy.

"As people all over the world prepare to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Americans are reminded of the great contributions and sacrifices Irish-Americans have made for our country," said Ryan. "The history of the United States bears the imprint of many great Irish-Americans, and their achievements deserve recognition."

 

The resolution has 34 bipartisan cosponsors.
